Notes
Some file versions referred to below may not, currently, be available for download!
Outstanding issues may be marked as 'Critical' or 'Minor'. The normal release policy is to release a fix for a critical issue as soon as possible but minor issues or issues with a straightforward workaround may not warrant an urgent release.
Version 2.0.0.6 Beta 6
- Problem: Annoying trial licence bug! After using functions that cause SPS to save data (including the internal backup system activated by making changes) you may be unable to open any database. You may get an 'Unable to open database' error if 'Advanced Status Logging' is off. If 'Advanced Status Logging' is turned on, you see that the real problem is that SPS thinks the licence (which is the 'database' in question here) is invalid! In fact, there is no actual problem with either the licence or the real database. Note that the 'Restore (last) Running Backup' feature cannot work due to this bug. Partial Workaround: restart SPS2B6 before opening your data file. Note that this issue does not affect full licence users. This is fixed in version 2.0.0.7 Beta 7.
Version 2.0.0.7 Beta 7
- Problem introduced in Beta 7 where main form starts in an incorrect screen position. Workaround: move the application form after opening. This is fixed in version 2.0.0.8 Beta 8.
Version 2.0.0.8 Beta 8
- If you change a field in the tree view by directly editing the field in the tree view, the fact that the database is now changed is not registered. On exit you are not given the chance to save your changed data. Workaround: when editing data directly in the tree view, save your data manually. Alternatively, you can use 'Edit Record' from the button on the main window or the Edit Menu. This is fixed in version 2.0.0.9 Beta 9.
Version 2.0.2.12
- A problem has been identified when you add a record without a current item being properly selected. SPS may report an access violation. Workaround: Ensure any item is selected before choosing to add a record. This is fixed in version 2.0.3.13.
- The help file (quick start or via F1) may fail to start. This is currently under investigation although a possible fix is on trial in 2.0.3.13
Version 2.1.5.15
- If you use the menu 'Encryption - Enhance Key ' to turn on or off the enhanced key feature, the change will not be recognized until the 'Enter/Change Database Decryption Code' is next used. Workaround: do not use the menu 'Encryption - Enhance Key ' to turn on or off the enhanced key feature, use the menu 'Encryption - Change Database Encryption Code' and/or check or uncheck 'Enhance Key' on any 'Enter/Change Database Decryption Code' window. If you have a data file that will no longer open, try opening with and without the enhanced key. This is fixed in version 2.1.6.16.
Version 2.1.6.16
- If the 'Tools - Options - Auto Open Database With All Defaults' menu item is set, the 'Enhance Key' setting defaults to 'off' during startup. This means that the auto open database will fail to load automatically (without showing any errors) if it was saved with an Enhanced Key. Workaround: re-save the database with the enhanced key turned off. This is fixed in version 2.1.7.19.
Version 2.1.7.19
- Bug introduced in version 2.0.2.12 where entering data directly into the tree view does not trigger the 'data changed flag'. On quitting SPS you may not get a notification of your data being changed. Workaround: either don't use this feature or use the 'Edit Record' menu method. This is fixed in version 2.2.8.34.
Version 2.2.8.34
- Minor bug where if you right click then left click on the tree view pane but do not click on a valid item, an Access Violation is caused. Workaround: none, but this bug has no effect other than displaying the Access Violation message box. This is fixed in version 2.2.8.35.
- When using the standard right-click contect menu 'Paste' to paste text directly into a tree view field rather than use the 'Enter Data' form, SPS does not realise the data has changed and, so, will not advise of this and ask for a course of action on closing. Changes made in this way are easilly lost. Note that using 'ctrl-v' does work correctly. Workaround: if you use this pasting technique, you must remember to manually save the changes. Otherwise use 'ctrl-v' instead. This is fixed in version 2.2.8.35.
