Upgrade procedure
1/ Download and save the latest version of SPS from here.
2/ Backup your old SPS program folders! Rename them or copy to another location. If anything goes wrong this is where you fall back to.
3/ From Control Panel - Add Or Remove Programs, uninstall the old SPS version. With more recent versions of SPS, there is an uninstall shortcut in the SPS start menu.
4/
Install the new version by running the "sps_setup.exe" file.
Changes to be aware of
Saved settings changes
If SPS cannot read previous saved settings then it will create new defaults automatically.

Only Enhanced Key Database files saved by previous versions (from 2.1.5.15) can be read by this version but all database files are now saved using the new structure and will, subsequently, not be readable by older versions of SPS. If you require SPS 2.1.7.19 in order to convert a database from non-enhanced key to enhanced key, you can find it here.
SPS 2 has changed name to SPS. This changes the install folder so you should copy existing default database files into this folder manually.

Can read and write 2.2.8.34 compatible database files. To benefit from the new Auto-Fill feature, existing databases will need their structure changed to add Website and AutoFill fields. Use the new Database Structure Editor as described in the Help file page Upgrading from SPS 2 to SPS 3. |
